“Gjon Luka” School
Designed as an integrated programmatic ensemble, the 9-year school with kindergarten “Gjon Luka” is located in the village of Luz, on a land area of 1,640 m².
Positioned at the intersection of two roads — one being the main road of the village, connecting its center with the Tirana–Shkodër national highway, and the other a secondary road leading south toward the river — the site offers excellent accessibility both within the village and in connection with the city of Fushë-Krujë.
Taking into account the site’s location, as well as the requirements of decision-makers and the local community, the designed building and its surrounding open space were conceived to create a public institution that also functions as a community center, serving not only students and children but the entire local population. This community hub offers a meeting point for parents and children of various age groups — from 3 to 17 years old — fostering intergenerational connections around a public, educational, and sports-oriented institution.
“Hajdar Hoxha” School
“Hajdar Hoxha” School in Larushk has been built in full compliance with modern design standards, offering multifunctional spaces that serve both students and the local community. It includes a heating and cooling system, a dedicated gymnasium, and organized outdoor areas with green spaces and sports grounds. The project area is primarily residential, as defined in the General Local Plan of Krujë Municipality, with a significant concentration of service and housing-related activities. The architectural volume of the building has been designed in proportion to the surrounding area, ensuring harmonious integration with its context. The schoolyard includes green zones, play areas for kindergarten children, and a covered sports field for students.
The ground floor (650 m² + 20 m² emergency staircase) is functionally divided into two areas:
– A kindergarten area of 327 m², designed with a separate entrance and operating independently from the rest of the school.
– Support facilities for the sports field serving the elementary cycle, along with technical rooms totaling 338.5 m², with a separate school entrance.
The first floor (660 m² + 19 m² emergency staircase) and second floor (641 m² + 19 m² emergency staircase) house the classrooms and laboratories for the lower cycle of “Hajdar Hoxha” School.
The building form has been conceived with consideration for both the morphological context of the area and the functional requirements of educational use, ensuring an efficient and contextually appropriate design.
